Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 17, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Stone Insights ("we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit stone-insights.com or use our B2B diamond pricing intelligence platform. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal data more broadly.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser, remember information about your visit, and make subsequent interactions faster and more useful. We also use closely related technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data directly in your browser rather than as traditional cookies. For simplicity, this policy refers to all of these as "cookies".
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary
These cookies are essential for the platform to operate. Without them, you cannot sign in, remain authenticated, or submit forms securely. Because they are required to deliver services you explicitly request, they cannot be switched off.
Preference
These cookies remember choices you make — such as your selected currency, theme (light, dark, or system), and dashboard layout — so the platform looks and behaves the way you expect on return visits.
Analytics
These cookies help us understand how customers use the platform in aggregate — which features are valuable, where users encounter friction, and how performance is trending. The data is used to improve the product and is not used to identify you personally.
Third-Party Service Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we rely on, such as our payment processor. We do not control these cookies; their use is governed by the provider's own privacy and cookie policies.
3. Cookies We Set
The table below lists the primary cookies and storage items used by Stone Insights:
4. Third-Party Cookies
We use a small number of vetted third-party services to operate Stone Insights. These providers may set their own cookies when their functionality is used:
- Stripe — sets cookies to process subscription payments, prevent fraud, and secure the checkout flow. See Stripe's privacy policy for details.
- Google Analytics — set only on our public pages (landing, blog, knowledge hub, legal) after you accept cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic patterns so we can improve the site. See Google's privacy policy for details. Google Analytics does not run inside the signed-in application.
- Infrastructure & CDN providers — may set cookies to route requests efficiently, mitigate abuse, and ensure platform availability.
We do not run advertising networks or behavioural ad-targeting cookies on Stone Insights.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You have several ways to control cookies:
- Consent banner: The first time you visit our site, we ask you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can clear your browser storage to see this prompt again.
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies on a per-site or global basis. The steps vary by browser — check the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or your browser of choice.
- Device-level controls: Mobile devices typically offer additional privacy settings such as blocking cross-site tracking or clearing website data.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using core platform features. Blocking preference or analytics cookies will not prevent access but may reduce the quality of your experience.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no consistent industry standard for interpreting DNT, Stone Insights does not currently respond to these signals. You can still manage cookies through the controls described above.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the platform.
